We are entering year 4 of 5!
This outing is an organization of Pat’s friends that is working towards a college scholarship fund awarded at Monona Grove High School for both boys and girls in Pat's name. We are a charitable organization with IRS 501c3 status. We are planning a golf outing, silent auction, raffles and dinner with music by Axle Grease to follow. We are organizing this event for a 5 year period. With your generosity, our goal is to build up a scholarship fund that will be able to be self sustaining for years to follow after we are done with these events.
Anyone who knew Pat, will always remember Pat’s bear hugs. He was a big guy, and he’d lift people right off the ground, that’s the kind of guy he was. Pat could light up a room with just his presence. However the biggest and most beloved part of Pat was his heart! He knew everyone and everyone knew him. Need some help or a favor? Pat was there. Need a friend? Pat was there. Pat was an avid fan of the Arizona State Sun Devils, the Packers, and Elvis.
Born in Madison in 1958, Pat graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1976. But early on he developed a love for football, using his large stature to play offensive tackle for Monona’s first-ever Pee Wee team of fifth- and sixth-graders in 1969. Pat was best known for his 30 years as a volunteer coach in the Monona Pee Wee and over 15 years in the Monona Grove youth football program. In the fall of 2015, Pat finished coaching Presley, the second of his two sons, through youth football, but he cherished the ability to work with children, beginning his coaching career long before he was a father. He planned to continue coaching the Pee Wee League through its 50th anniversary in 2019. One of the greatest tributes to Pat, was seeing former players come up to him and get a big bear hug years after they had moved on from the program. Keeping with his life mission of giving back to the community, Pat was elected Village of Cottage Grove President in the spring of 2015.
We would like to thank all who participate to make this event a great memory in Pat's name.
"In a blink of an eye, I never got to say goodbye, like a shooting star flyin' across the sky, so fast so far, you were gone too soon"
